Sara Morris Receives an Ailsa Mellon Bruce Predoctoral Fellowship

Sara Morris, Ph.D. student, is the recipient of an Ailsa Mellon Bruce Predoctoral Fellowship for Historians of American Art to Travel Abroad for 2019-2020. This fellowship is made possible through the National Gallery of Art’s Center of Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) and supports continuous travel abroad for a period of four to six weeks to sites of historical and cultural interest. Sara will visit significant collections of decorative arts and design in Western and Northern Europe fundamental to the development of the American Studio Craft Movement. Sara is a graduate student in the History of Art and Architecture Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where her research focuses American contemporary art in relation to modern and contemporary craft histories, digital technologies, and feminist inquiry.
