Yun-chen Lu Receives Abundant Awards for 2019-2020 Academic Year

Yun-Chen (Clio) Lu, Ph.D. Candidate, has received numerous awards for the 2019-2020 academic year that will support dissertation research on her subject Gao Fenghan, including:

  • Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Dissertation Fellowship 2019-2020, funded by the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange
  • The Metropolitan Center for Far Eastern Art Studies Doctoral Grants, 2019-2020, that supports projects that reflect advanced scholarship and offer new insights into East Asian Art. Yun-chen will use this grant to conduct research in Taiwan and China
  • The China and Inner Asia Council (CIAC) of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) Research Travel Grant Award, for dissertation-level graduate students and scholars with special interests in China, Taiwan, or Inner Asia and for research travel within the USA, and will be used to visit several museums and libraries in central and eastern United States
  • The Heidelberg-Getty Dissertation Workshop and European-U.K. Research Travel Stipends, funded by the Getty Foundation, that will allow her to work with several experts in Asian art history to develop my first two dissertation chapters and conduct research in Asian art collection in Europe
  • From UCSB, a Graduate Division Dissertation Fellowship and a Humanities & Social Sciences Research Grant
