Bio:

Anisa Côté is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History of Art & Architecture at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She completed her M.A. in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of British Columbia in 2024. Her Master's research focused on Etruscan eroticism in the funerary context, particularly the role of erotic Attic vessels deposited with the deceased. Using a cross-cultural comparison between Moche and Attic erotic pottery, she explored new approaches to sexuality, gender, and the connection between erotic power and death. Additionally, Anisa has experience conducting archaeology in Israel, New Zealand, Romania, and Peru, and has worked as an archaeologist in the Cultural Resource Management sector in British Columbia, Canada.
